Is Serving God A Choice.

John
13“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s
friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no
longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his
slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything
the Father told me. 16 You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I
appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father
will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. 17 This is my
command: Love each other.”
Romans
1“Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that
they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that they have a
zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being
ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish
their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the
righteousness of God.”
1“Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my
prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. 2 I know
what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. 3
For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with
himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way
of getting right with God by trying to keep the law.”
Serving the Lord is a commitment, an obligation it is
something that you look forward to each and everyday.
Serving the Lord is about building a relationship on a
spiritual level that will led to personal experiences.
How do I commit: Romans
9“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your
heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with
God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never
be disgraced.””
Showing my love for Him; John
15“After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John,
do you love [agapao; to esteem, direction of the will and finding
joy in it] me more than these? ” “Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you
know I love you.” “Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him. 16 Jesus
repeated the question: “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
“Yes, Lord,” Peter said, “you know I love you.” “Then take care of
my sheep,” Jesus said. 17 A third time he asked him, “Simon son
of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the
question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You
know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep. 18“I tell
you the truth, when you were young, you were able to do as you
liked; you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go.
But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others
will dress you and take you where you don’t want to go.” 19 Jesus
said this to let him know by what kind of death he would glorify
God. Then Jesus told him, “Follow me.””
It Reveals to other your relationship; Acts of the Apostles
“But God removed Saul and replaced him with David, a man
about whom God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man
after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.’”
Numbers
“But my servant Caleb has a different attitude than the others
have. He has remained loyal to me, so I will bring him into the
land he explored. His descendants will possess their full share of
that land.”
Putting Him first; Ephesians
25“For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved
the church. He gave up his life for her 26 to make her holy and
clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. 27 He did this to
present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or
wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without
fault.”
Matthew
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously,
and he will give you everything you need.”
I show my commitment by keeping my vows; Proverbs
“Keep the commandments and keep your life; despising them
leads to death.”
Close; Serving God is not a choice but it is a commitment that I
am thankful for. I serve Him because He shows His love for me,
He provides for me, He protects me, He reveals Himself to me.
He has given me everything I need through Jesus that give me
the reassurance that I can declare what David said that the Lord
is my shepherd and I shall not want.
